Editorial standards
Human-curated knowledge, assisted research, human-approved publishing.
Verified identities
Companies and people are maintained in a hand-curated bilingual registry. We prefer official English names where they exist and never invent romanisations. Where several people or companies share a name, each is kept separate and identified.
Facts before narrative
Our research is organised as individual facts — who founded what, when an investment was made, who held which role and for how long. Each fact is reviewed by an editor before it can appear on the site. Relationships are time-aware: a former role is never presented as a current one.
Original writing
Profiles and stories are original editorial work. We do not republish source documents, and we keep facts clearly separate from analysis and interpretation. When the record is uncertain or contested, we say so rather than guess.
Software assistance
We use software, including language models running on our own computers, to organise notes, suggest facts and draft outlines. No automatically generated text is published without an editor reviewing, revising and approving it.
Two languages
The Atlas is published in English and Chinese. Each Chinese page is an editor-approved translation of the English original, kept separate so that each edition reads entirely in its own language. A story appears in the Chinese edition only once its translation has been reviewed.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we correct it and update the page's "updated" date.
Independence
The Atlas is independent. Advertising, where shown, is clearly labelled and kept separate from editorial content; it never influences coverage. Nothing on this site is investment advice.
